This week we saw a further lift in auction numbers and clearance rates following the Easter slowdown. Nationally there were 2,448 homes auctioned with a preliminary clearance rate of 80.5%.
In Melbourne, 1,204 homes were auctioned across the city, with a preliminary clearance rate of 78.1%, which was higher than last week’s preliminary figure of 77.2%.
Sydney has a preliminary auction clearance rate of 84.8% this week as volumes increased. There were 913 auctions held, up on last week’s 821.
Across the smaller cities, Canberra continued its strong performance, with 87.4% of homes selling at auction this week, the highest of the capital cities. Following Adelaide with 82.8%, Brisbane (72.7%), and then Perth (50%).
